Santa's Workshop 2015
We had multiple Christmas themed booths that Nghia have been preparing weeks beforehand, working in teams to create the perfect booth for our TNF kids. On Saturday, December 19th 2015 our Nghia prepared booths in anticipation for the rush of kids running into the hall! We had booths from guessing special items in Christmas stockings to booths where we had to blow through a straw in a Christmas themed obstacle course! Each player received a number of tickets in order to turn in to play a game! We also provided a crafty booth for children who wanted to relax and explore their creative side by decorating ornaments our booth called "Crafts at the North Pole."
While everyone was having the time of their lives, many children ran out of tickets. Chi Britnee came to the rescue and provided more tickets with first answering TNF questions about Mary and the three children. After a good run of playing games we all came out for lunch and went to class where many enjoyed Christmas parties with their teachers and classmates.
Thank you to all who came out this past Saturday and everyone who contributed to a great "Christmas-y" Saturday for out TNF kids! I could see the smiles from everyone and the warmth of love in the air with everyone laughing and scoring some candy with all our Christmas booths. This Saturday seemed especially rewarding to everyone who ran the booths who were able to not only reward candy to children, but reward a smile to all our kids. This Saturday was not only fun and games, but a time to express our love each other in preparation for the coming of Jesus. Being in a positive mindset will set our hearts ready to have the true Christmas spirit!

Khoa Tinh Huan 2015
Sadly the last day of KTH crept on us fast, but Sunday was a unforgettable day. The morning kicked off with a dance exercise to "Hotline Bling" with Anh Thuan and Chi Diana after Dang Ngay to get out blood flowing for the rest of the day. After that, each of us had a chance to get more personal with each other and especially our HT's to understand the purpose, intention, and calling to becoming a youth leader. With our Q&A panel, Nghia had the opportunity to express their concerns and curiosity to the path of becoming a future HT. We ended the day with a special mass to welcome our new Huynh Truongs. Saying our goodbyes to our other TNF friends made us even more excited to reach the next time we would be able to to see them again.
This weekend will be something we will all never forget. We have gained so much knowledge about being a witness of Fatima and most importantly learned more about ourselves and our commitment to devoting our time and love to TNF. Mother Mary of God please look over us and guide us closer to God and please guide our new youth leaders.

Happy Halloween from TNF Torrance
At the start of sinh hoat, we began learning a special Halloween dance to the song "Monster Mash." After a while of grooving in our costumes with the "Transylvania twist" and the "woof howling" moves, we played a whole variety of games like "Dinh Chum" and "Gio Thoi." All of those who were the fabulous losers that were caught during the game of "Gio Thoi" had to perform the Monster Mash in front of everyone which was more a treat rather than a trick.
Before lunch we began our annual costume contest hosted by Anh Thuan. We cheered aloud together for the categories of "scariest", "prettiest", and "most creative." We had an amazing turnout for our creative category with people dressed as slice of cake, Baymax, and sushi! Thanks to everyone who participated in making this Halloween very special and fun. Until next year I hope to see much more costumes and bigger spirit. Until next time! Only 364 days to go as Chi Brenda said.
At the end of the night we also watched our fellow girls perform a beautiful dance for our mother Mary because October was the month of the Holy Rosary. May Mary continue to bless us with many more years of great fun and hard work!

The Ping to My Pong
On October 3rd, we arrived at San Gabriel fairly early, so we all took this opportunity to help set up chairs and hang out with ice breakers before preparing to pray the Rosary. After praying the Rosary to the Joyful mysteries we dove into activities. This time we played "minute to win it" themed games with ping pong balls and cups! We played all sorts of games such as shaking ping pong balls out of tissue boxes tied to our waists against other đoàns. Watching everyone laughing hysterically, truly showed how close of a family we are!
Enjoying ourselves and having our mouths sore from smiling so much, truly showed the power of TNF and the love that comes with coming to TBDT. With every month we are able to bond and spend time with one another sharing love for Mary and for one another!
Once we headed back home to Torrance we began our Ngành ceremony! This meant each member that was moving up to a new ngành whether it would be Au, Thieu or Nghia would receive a new cap hieu. This was extra special because every member had the opportunity to move forward onto a new chapter of new duties to either sacrificing, praying, or devoting to the Immaculate Heart.
This past Saturday was truly special for each and every one of us to either move onto a new chapter or witness our close friends crossing a special spiritual milestone.
Check out our vlog below for a cool recap!

Dream Team is Back Together
On this special day we greeted all our old and new members with a cool welcome with snow cones and cotton candy. With the help of many of our members, everyone was delighted with refreshing treats for the crazy heat! Afterwards we gathered together in the hall where we reunited with one another's company. Before Deacon Long began his welcome back session, we all introduced our HT's and DT's to our new members. We started off finding meaning through our names, for example Deacon Long's name "Long" means dragon. Furthermore, Deacon Long had us figure that through our meanings of our names, we must think about the idea of how people view us. Deacon Long helped us recognize that we are all followers of Jesus and to keep in mind through our actions we must live the way we do as children of God.
After a motivating session with our Deacon Long, we had the rest of the day to relax, catch up, and drinks tons of water to keep up with the heat.
We are all so happy to have been able to spend this day with each and every one of you and seeing all the new faces are especially inspiring to keep going as TNF. Here's to new beginnings and great memories to be made! The dream team is finally back together woohoo!
The vlogs are back! Come join in on the fun and TNF love below:

We Are the Future of the Church
This past Saturday on August 29th, Nghia and HT's began our annual One Day Leadership Retreat hosted by Deacon Long. With the help of Deacon Long, we were lucky enough to learn from so many inspirational speakers and at the same time have wonderful snack breaks thanks to Deaconess Loan!
Around 9 a.m. Deacon Long began his first activity where every one of us had to write characteristics we liked about one another and placed them into envelopes with our candid pictures. Afterwards Deacon Long had us do mini skits according to bible verses to exemplify God's creations within seven days. Many groups were hilariously creative in creating their own interpretations of God's creation. After a interesting lecture about God and we settled down and learned a golden message from Deacon Long. We recognized that God always and will forever loving and that is never changing. With God, there is no time, but everlasting love eternal happiness.
With the day off to a great start, we were even more eager to learn from Linda! Linda taught us valuable lessons about working with one another more importantly, her motto PLAG.
Above all we learned that with creating a great community comes the effort and contribution of everyone no matter how small creates a driving force to serve God!
To finish off our round of speakers, we were delighted to meet So who helped all of us recognize to open our eyes for God's calling for vocation. We played multiple games from "rock, paper, scissors" the fancy style where we were either a Christian, adult, child, or egg. From then on, So advised us that within each of those stages are vocations such as serving one's vocation as a child or even a husband for example. Other games we played included our members playing as a rescuer, robber, or a cop. With this game we learned the importance of hearing God's calling. Lastly, we learned most of all to have the right intention for God's calling for our own vocations no matter what is happening, certain coming of events might be opportunities sent from God.
To end our day, we played some intense but hilarious games to enjoy each others company before we headed off to mass. We hope you all feel spiritually revitalized for the upcoming school year and may you all take great confidence to move forward as future leaders of the church. We all play an important role in the "body" of our youth group and with each of us as the "organs," we build an amazing foundation to do great things for God. We are the future of the church! May Mary our mother guide us to an upcoming school year filled with love and success!

TNF Torrance celebrates our 25th Anniversary!
We began with TBDT in the early morning and were delighted to see many more faces from other Doans. After collecting our star stickers for our "Passports to God," we had mass with Cha Long. After mass we prayed the Rosary and this time we dedicated our meditation after to free our minds and think recollect and unplug from our busy past week. We began games such as the ultimate tournament of "rock, paper, scissors" and a fun game of poison ball. Before lunch, we sat around one another and passed around a beach ball covered in multiple questions such as "to get to know each other better. Through this game we were able to learn more about each others interests and become a lot closer. After lunch, we gave our special goodbyes and began to set up our booths for tro choi lon.
This special theme if tro choi lon was in spirit of the upcoming summer break where we had booths led by HT's and Nghia as our end of the year "Summer festival." Our booths were adorned with colorful signs as many children had the luxury to spend time within each of these booths. For the "Trivia Treats" booth our members had to answer trivia question to test their knowledge they learned throughout the year in order to win a snow cone or cotton candy! In the booth "What's in season?" players had to guess what flavor a certain juice was in order to gain the prize of candy. The next booth tested the player's memorization skills where in "Summer memories," children had to try to memorize a photo for a short amount of time before drawing out the most they could remember. "Lets get crafty" booth was a fun way in order for members to create leis out of boba straws, string, and colorful flower paper. "The ping to my pong" was an intense booth in order for players to shoot water through water guns to knock off ping pong balls off of water bottles. Last, but not the least in our "Hula Hoop contest" players had to compete to hula hoop the longest to win candy.
After a long day of joyous fun, we ended the night with a grand performances after mass. We performed "Dancing through the Decades" where we danced in the theme of era between 1900's and till present day. Our dancers looked absolutely wonderful dressed in their costumes to match the era and watching across the sea of smiles, truly showed how much of a joy it is to dance with one another. Thank you all who came out to devote your time to a memorable day.

TBDT At El Monte
Anh Martin led the games such as "Monkey in the Middle 2.0" We enjoyed ourselves as we spread out into a circle and passed around multiple balls without dropping it hastily without having to switch out with the "monkeys" in the middle. After a snack break, we split off into groups and introduced ourselves to other TNF members to create new friendships and be ready for some cool team games.
We were faced with the challenge of flipping over a towel while each group stands on the towel without stepping on the outside. This was difficult, but was nonetheless extremely fun. After countless activities, we finally relaxed with some good food. El Monte served amazing food along with thai tea boba which was definitely much needed after a great time of games.
Big thanks for Doan El Monte for having us and we hope you all enjoyed yourselves and made some awesome friendships within our TNF family. Until the next TBDT!

Feed The Homeless
On April 18th, all ngành organized in assembly lines to efficiently pack lunches. Ngành Au decorated paper bags, nganh Thieu prepared peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and nghia were leaders of each table to carry the flow of the assembly line to run smoothly. As we prepared these lunches, we kept in mind the amount of people who were going to be touched by God's love through our packed lunches. With hard work and great enthusiasm to give back, we are serving not only the less fortunate but we are serving God.
The next morning on April 19th we arrived early in the morning and met with Deacon Long and arrived at Skid Row to begin reaching out to those in need of lunches. As we walked around we observed around us the everyday lives the homeless go through everyday. We humbled ourselves and began to find great gratitude in our hearts that we are fortunate to be live under a roof and have the basic necessities we usually take for granted. We thank all you guys who took your time to come out and contribute to the community as God's image to the less fortunate. We hope you all continue to remember the blessings God has given us and to pray for those who are in need.

TBDT At Claremont
After the Rosary we began fun activities and some of which were Easter themed! We organized ourselves into teams and began our first game of "Stations of the Cross." In this fun activity, each of us had to run to a number corresponding to the one of the stages of Jesus' journey of carrying the cross. Afterwards, we began a Easter themed crossword puzzle. We leaped onto each other's back "piggyback" style to rush over and find the colored eggs corresponding to the answers. The first team to collect all the correct eggs won. Once we did that, we went back into the room to play more games. There were various activities that were so fun and we hope you all enjoyed yourselves as well. Thank so much to Doan Claremont for having us and we will see you all very soon at our next TBDT!

Torrance Gets Crafty
On this exciting day, all ngành had the luxury of choosing between either origami, friendship bracelets, or coloring pages workshops. While everyone was creating their own masterpieces, we also played a special TNF slideshow to look back on all our past memories we have shared together over the years. This was a wonderful experience to give all of our TNF members a day to sit back and get cracking with crafts and spend a good time in each other's company.
At the end of the day, Lop Thank Kinh 2 celebrated Jesus' washing of the feet. Chi Brenda guided us as we washed each others feet to act as one of Jesus' disciples to humble ourselves and be the person to choose to wash another person's feet and as well accept the washing of our own feet. God calls out to us everyday to accept to become one of his servants to serve those everyone around us and to sacrifice and spread love to everyone around us as Jesus did when he died on the cross for us. We hope you all found this experience eye opening and to encourage you to continue to humble ourselves to serve those around us as Jesus did.

For two hours all three ngành reviewed over the material they have been learning since the beginning of the school year in preparation for tro chơi lớn upcoming this Saturday. In one of the stations for tro chơi lớn, we will be having a jeopardy game in which all ngành will be tested for their knowledge from the past several months. LA Youth Day #TalkJesusWithMe - (3/12/15)
Youth Day was a great opportunity for our TNF members to join among thousands of teens sharing their faith in God and appreciating his never ending love. From spending time in the arena watching live music, to engaging in mass, or gaining wisdom from lectures with hundreds of people we all gained wisdom from the speakers throughout that day to continue talking to Jesus and as well talk Jesus to everyone around us. We hope you all found this day very inspirational and encouraging to maintaining a good relationship with God and as well proclaiming our faith with great pride.

Thứ Bẩy Đầu Tháng (3/7/15)
We first started our day early in the morning at 8:30 a.m. to prepare the annex for mass, and decorations. Ngành Thiếu helped decorate our statue Mary with beautifully made paper flower assortments. By 10 a.m. we began mass with Cha Long and followed up with praying the Rosary. While praying the rosary a few Nghĩa members helped read each of the sorrowful mysteries in spirit of Easter. We prayed the sorrowful mysteries in order to follow along the pain and sufferings Mary went through seeing her only son die on the cross. After the Rosary, we began to play icebreakers and games such as "barnyard animals" and "bird and perch." We ended TBDT with delicious tacos and a a mini "karaoke session" singing along to music.
Although the weather was extremely hot we enjoyed each others company nonetheless! Great thanks
to everyone who came out on this special day to dedicate a small part of our day to Mary and to as well
create great memories with one another. Till next month!
